AXT, a supplier of scientific equipment headquartered in Sydney, Australia, has announced that is has partnered with Amazemet Sp. Z o. o., based in Warsaw, Poland, to bring its range of Additive Manufacturing equipment to the Australian market.

“3D printing is an extremely dynamic sector and we are excited by the prospect of becoming more involved by partnering with Amazemet to assist Australian researchers and companies to accelerate their development projects,” stated Richard Trett, AXT’s Managing Director.

Amazemet, a spin-off of the Warsaw University of Technology, designs and manufactures a range of systems for those involved in metal Additive Manufacturing, with products spanning from R&D to small-scale industrial production. The company has successfully transferred ultrasonic atomisation technology, along with expertise in automated support removal and post AM heat treatment, into devices that are now part of its portfolio.

“We are currently experiencing rapid growth with systems being installed all around the world,” added Łukasz Żrodowski, Amazemet CEO. “It made sense for us to look at the Australian market and we are proud to partner with AXT on this journey which I am sure will yield results in the short term.”

One of Amazemet’s leading systems is the rePowder, a fully customisable, modular designed system optimised to economically produce small quantities of highly spherical metal powders with narrow size distributions and free flowing characteristics, said to be perfect for metal Additive Manufacturing. Using ultrasonic atomisation, rePowder can reportedly produce powders from virtually any feedstock in a more cost-effective and efficient process compared to typical gas atomisation. This makes it ideal for R&D, where experiments with a specific powder compositions, or a small quantity of powder for a particular job, is required.

Amazemet’s other products include the safeEtch and inFurner. safeEtch is a system that uses a patented chemical solution to remove supports from metal parts quickly and easily. inFurner is a compact vacuum furnace suited to the post-heat treatment of metal AM parts, as well as the heat treatment of other materials requiring a controlled atmosphere.
