Solar Manufacturing ships vacuum furnace to R&D laboratory

Solar Manufacturing, Inc.,Sellersville, Pennsylvania, USA, has shipped an internal quench vacuumfurnace for processing additively manufactured parts to an unnamed science andtechnology laboratory which requires the furnace to further their research and development.

Built with the company’sSolarVac® Polaris control system and a graphite-insulated hot zone, the furnaceis reportedly designed to accommodate loads up to approx 91 x 91 x122 cm, with a maximum weight of approx 2268 kg. Operating at a vacuum level of10-5 Torr, with maximum temperatures up to approx 1315°C, and quench pressure of two bar.
